Iterative product design

The maritime environment is very challenging, both because of the tough operating conditions and because of the difficulty of designing new equipment meant to be used hundreds of kilometers offshore. SC Robotics uses quick prototyping tools (3D printing, remote OTA updates, off-the-shelf components) so that our customers can help us validate the devices as soon as possible. Only then can we decide whether we can start mass manufacturing or go back to the design table.

Modern user interface in the sector

We have designed a device with a large display that shows all necessary information to end users. Visual feedback can be obtained from the device’s screen and mood lighting, and settings changed with a jog dial. No training is necessary thanks to its smooth and modern user interface with animations and touch gestures. We’ve found this design to be familiar for most users and yet more reliable than touchscreens.
